The Dominican government is preparing our country to be one of the top world producers of Bio-fuel. On June 4 the Dominican president Leonel Fernandez announced during his speech in the summit on food security of the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization that the Dominican Republic will soon execute a national plan of ethanol production using our country sugar cane resources. That means one think: soon the Dominican Republic will reduce her dependency of Venezuelan oil and the country may use the extra income to increase production and accelerate more her local economic.
We think that we are witnessing the beginning of a transformation of the Dominican Republic into a powerful economic-power in Latin-America. The Dominican government knows the big potential that our country has in food production to take advantage of the high food prices in the international market. However, the country most improve their business laws and banking institutions and stop the corrupt Dominican administrative system that may damage the change of the country to transform the local economic for the better.
